Ian Clemens, our CTO, recently blogged on Visual Fusion Contribute, our iPhone App for sending geo-tagged photos and comments to a SharePoint Library. We are all very excited about this product and it represents our first step to bring the mobile world into our Visual Fusion ecosystem. Applications built on the Visual Fusion platform pull together data from SharePoint, the enterprise, and the cloud into a single, meaningful view, and showing data from the field in real-time is an exciting addition to these applications. Mashing up inputs from the field with other organizational data and cloud content is very, very exciting for situational awareness and simply letting every else see what the feet-on-the-street are seeing: enterprise mashups with data coming in from mobile assets!
We have also developed a Blackberry app, and this will be released in the near future as well. As we expand our mobile footprint we anticipate many apps for as many different platforms as possible. Bringing all relevant information together in ways that empower better, faster decision making is what Visual Fusion is all about. Now the mobile world is a part of the Visual Fusion world, and this will greatly benefit our partners and customers.
